Newton, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team closed out Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with a 7-1 road loss at Lasell College Monday afternoon at Taylor Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:

  • Lasell entered halftime with a six-goal lead, 6-0, behind three goals from Caitlin Rotonnelli to complete the hat trick.
  • Senior Morgan Gigliotti (Wolcott, Conn.) and junior Erin Daly (Seymour, Conn.) each recorded a shot on goal for the Falcons.

Second Half:

  • Freshman Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) netted her 11th goal of the season on a penalty kick at the 67th minute. Her goal would bring the Falcons to within five, 6-1.
  • Freshman Jaidyn Gillette (Putnam, Conn.) and Andrews posted the Falcons' final two shot attempts at the 70th and 80th minute, respectively. Both shots were saved by Lasell's keeper Nikki Power.
  • Lasell tacked on an additional goal at the 84th to push its lead back up to six, 7-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The Lasers outshot the visitors, 28-5.
  • The Lasers also held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-1.
  • Lasell's Carly Zdanek posted a team-best five shots while Sophia DiPlacido, Morgan Pinksten and Rotonnelli added four shots a piece.
  • Along with her five shot attempts, Zdanek recorded two assists for two points.
  • Andrews finished the game with a team-high two shots.
