Raposo Nets Hat Trick to Lead Falcons over Mitchell, 10-0

New Haven, Conn. – Junior Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team finished with a team-high three goals and two assists for eight points to lead the Lady Falcons to a 10-0 non-conference victory over Mitchell College on Thursday evening at Celentano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Albertus commanded the entire contest, pouring in four first-half goals and adding six in the second stanza to walk away with a 10-0 triumph.

Raposo led the Falcons in the opening stanza with one goal and two assists while Jordan Kikosicki (East Haven, Conn.), Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) and Morgan Ashby (Branford, Conn.) added a tally of their own for the hosts. 

Freshman Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) kicked off the second half netting her first collegiate goal at the 52nd minute mark. Shortly after, Raposo completed the hat trick following back-to-back goals less than one minute apart, pushing the hosts lead to seven, 7-0.

Down the stretch, Kikosicki, Jaidyn Gillette (Putnam, Conn.) and Mercedes Faust (Warwick, R.I.) tacked on one goal each to put the game away 10-0.

  • Streater made her first appearance in goal for the Falcons.
  • Kelly Musante (Wallingford, Conn.) and Tessa Barsczewski (Cheshire, Conn.) also made their first appearance as a Falcon.
  • This is the second straight year the Falcons shutout the Mariners.
