RESULTS

Standish, M.E. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team opened its inaugural season on Saturday afternoon against Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The Falcons lost to the Monks by a score of 143-64.

The Falcons were led by sophomores Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) and Ellyn Diverniero (East Haven, Conn.), who finished the meet with a combined 39 points.

EVENT RESULTS

1,000 Yard Freestyle

  • Ellyn Diverniero (East Haven, Conn.) took home first place after swimming back-to-back events with a time of 15:41.19 to pick up nine points for the Falcons.

200 Yard Freestyle

  • Carolyn Corey (Waterbury, Conn.) placed third in the event with a time of 4:14.23 for three points.

50 Yard Backstroke

  • Nedjine Lucine (Bridgeport, Conn.) chipped in with four points for the Falcons with a time of 1:04.00 to finish second in the 50 yard Backstroke.
  • Abigail Amankwatia (Bronx, N.Y.) also placed third in the event with a time of 1:28.82 for three points.

50 Yard Breaststroke

  • Megan Anderson (Levitttown, N.Y.) placed second in the 50 yard Breaststroke event with a time of 38.47 to pick up four points.
  • Arle Cruceta (Salcedo, Dominican Republic) collected two points after finishing fourth with a time of 1:45.23.

50 Yard Freestyle

  • Lucine led the Falcons in the 50 yard Freestyle event with a time of 56.15 for a third-place finish and three points for Albertus.
  • Cruceta claimed fourth with a time of 58.44 to pick up two points.

100 Yard Freestyle

  • The Falcons grabbed three spots in the 100 yard Freestyle event, led by Diverniero in third place with a time of 1:16.14 (3 pts.), followed by Corey in fourth place at 1:57.97 (2 pts.) and Cruceta in fifth with a time of 2:30.25 (1 pt.).

100 Yard Backstroke

  • Genesis Cora-Luquis (Meriden, Conn.) finished third in the event with a time of 1:43.58 for two points.
  • Lucien claimed fourth with a time of 2:30.37 for two points.

100 yard Breaststroke

  • Anderson recorded her second second-place performance after finishing the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:23.66 (4pts.).

500 Yard Freestyle

  • Diverniero finished second in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 7:32.35.

200 Yard Individual Medley

  • Anderson claimed her third second-place finish earning  points with a time of 2:57.76.

200 Yard Medley Relay

  • The Albertus relay team of Cora-Luquis, Anderson, Divernierio, and Corey took home first place points with a time of 2:48.48.
