Swimming & Diving Competes in Day Three of the NEISDA Championships

Kingston, R.I. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team competed in day three of four of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Saturday afternoon at the University of Rhode Island Tootell Aquatic Center. The Falcons finished in 18th place out of 21.

PRELIMINARY RESULTS

50 Yard Butterfly  

  • Ana Lucia Gutierrez Gomez (Hermosillo, Mexico) tied for fifth place going into tonight's "A" final with a new school record of 27.51 seconds. 

100 Yard Backstroke 

  • Elizabeth Sherry (Quinton, Va.) finished in 11th place with a final time of 1:04.34.  

100 Yard Breaststroke  

  • In her last individual event, Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) finished in 29th. 

200 Freestyle Relay  

  • The relay consisting of Sherry, Anderson, Gomez, and Crisbeth Castañeda (Guatemala City, Guatemala) finished in 21st place, collecting eight points for the Falcons. 

FINAL RESULTS 

50 Yard Butterfly 

  • Gomez finished in fifth place collecting 25 points for the Falcons and finishing with a time of 27.26 seconds.

100 Yard Backstroke 

  • Sherry finished in 11th place with a final time of 1:04.34.

The women's swimming and diving team returns to action Sunday, February 16th as the Falcons compete in day four of the NEISDA Championships at the University of Rhode Island Tootell Aquatic Center.
