Women’s Swimming & Diving Competes at CT Cup

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team placed ninth at the two-day CT Cup, hosted by Wesleyan University on Saturday and Sunday at the Webster Family Natatorium in Middletown, Conn.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
1650 Yard Freestyle
Sophie Olander (Amston, Conn.) recorded the Falcons' highest placement of the event, finishing 16th in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 21:45.26.

100 Yard Breaststroke
Maria Estrada (Guatemala City, Guatemala) clocked a time of 1:22.99 in the 100 breaststroke finals to finish 27th.

200 Yard Freestyle Relay
• Estrada, Olander, Ana Lucia Gutierrez Gomez (Sonora, Mexico), and Chloe Oliver (Milford, Conn.) combined to take 26th with a time of 1:57.30 in the 200 freestyle relay.

200 Yard Medley Relay
• The Falcons' 200 medley relay team of Estrada, Olander, Gutierrez Gomez, and Oliver took 27th in the finals with a mark of 2:15.95.

200 Yard IM
• Estrada placed 31st out of 38 competitors with a time of 2:31.33 in the 200 IM.

50 Yard Freestyle
• Gutierrez Gomez took 31st out of 64 swimmers in the 50-free finals with a time of 26.48.

UP NEXT
The Falcons return to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 10, for a home dual meet against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Elms College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center Swimming Pool.
