NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team broke a trio of school records in a dual meet with Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Elms College on Saturday. The Falcons secured the 139-97 win on senior day.
The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Chloe Oliver (Milford, Conn.), Sophie Olander (Amston, Conn.), Maria Estrada (Guatemala City, Guatemala) and Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada broke the school record with a time of 1:55.94 for first place. Avilia Estrada also snapped the school records in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard breaststroke for first-place finishes with times of 1:14.43 and 33.50, respectively. The first-year also won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.76.
Oliver earned the top spots in the 100-yard backstroke (1:17.74) and 50-yard backstroke (37.01), while Lourdes Rodriguez (East Hartford, Conn.) placed first in the 50-yard butterfly (41.92). In the 100-yard butterfly, Emily Morales (Southington, Conn.) swam a personal record with a time of 1:19.20. Olander earned second in the 500-yard freestyle (6:38.64) and the 1000-yard freestyle (13:18.81).
