Women’s Tennis Falls to JWU in GNAC Play

The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team fell to Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 9-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon in Providence, R.I.

JWU's Joanna Kaskiw picked up two victories for the Wildcats as she won No. 3 singles with set victories of 6-0, 6-1 over Albertus' Gina D'Agostino. Kaskiw teamed up with Amanda Goddard for No. 2 doubles where the duo defeated the Falcons' D'Agostino and Malika Grant 8-4.

Elizabeth Sammelbraun also recorded a pair of wins on the day as she won No. 4 singles over Grant, while Ansley Sego and Sammelbraun blanked Na'Tasha Mesidor and Sandybell Anorga in the No. 1 doubles' spot.

Albertus falls to 1-6 on the year with the loss, while the Wildcats remain unbeaten on the year with a 9-0 record.

The Falcons will host the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays on Monday, Oct. 8 in a 1:00 p.m. GNAC match.
