The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team took a commanding victory over the Vaughn College Warriors 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the United States National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
The Falcons and Warriors played pro sets to 10 during singles play to accommodate the atmosphere of playing at the professional venue.
The Falcons dominated doubles play winning the first three matches with the same score of 8-1.
Zaida Velazco (Dominican Republic) bounced back from two consecutive singles play losses with a 10-1 single set victory over Vaughn College's Melissa Jastillana. Velazco improves her singles record to 4-2 on the season.
Sharinna Luna (Bronx, N.Y.) and Teresa Piniero (New Haven, Conn.) recorded their first single play victories of the season as Luna defeated Guerrero 10-1 and Piniero took down Georgia Williams 10-5.
The Falcons take on Johnson & Wales (RI) on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Celentano Courts in New Haven, Connecticut.
