Women’s Tennis Release 2017 Fall Schedule

New Haven, Conn. – Albertus Magnus College women's tennis Head Coach Robert Migliorini (seventh season) has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2017 fall season. In total, the Falcons will take to the court 13 times, highlighted by six home contests and six Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matches.

Albertus Magnus is coming off another successful season, finishing 2016 with a 5-7 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The Falcons saw their season come to an end for the second season in a row on the road against in-state rival St. Joseph (Conn.) in the opening round of the conference's postseason tourney.

The Falcons will open the month of September with two matches away from New Haven. The opening weekend is comprised of a single match against Lehman (9/2) and an away match at Sarah Lawrence (9/10). Albertus Magnus will then return home for its GNAC opener against Mount Ida (9/16). Following the Falcons' home opener, the team hits the road for a non-conference match at Vaughn (9/17).

Albertus Magnus will alternate home and road matches to close out the month of September and begin the month of October. Albertus Magnus will face Johnson & Wales (9/20) in New Haven before traveling to Boston, Mass. to take on GNAC foe Simmons (9/23). The Falcons return home for a match against Suffolk (9/30) and open the month of October with back-to-back road contests at New Rochelle (10/1) and Saint Joseph's (Conn.) (10/4).

After the two-game road stint, Albertus Magnus welcomes John Jay College to the Elm City (10/7) and travels to Lesley the following day (10/8) for a single match. The Falcons play their final two regular season matches on the Celentano Courts facing Regis (10/14) and York (N.Y.) (10/15)

The GNAC women's tennis championship opens up with first round play on October 18th. The semifinals are on October 21st with the championship match on October 22nd. All matches will be played at the home site of the higher seed.
