Women's Tennis Races Past Sarah Lawrence, 9-0

Bronxville, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team blanked Sarah Lawrence College, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the Sarah Lawrence Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In doubles play, Albertus Magnus cruised to three victories. The Falcons tandem of Nallely Magana (East Haven, Conn.) and Lakhena Rath (Danbury, Conn.) netted an 8-0 win at No. 3, while the duo of Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) and Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) raced past their opponent, 8-0, at No. 2. At No. 1, Alicia Weaver (Bethel, Conn.) and Izzy Sabino (Cheshire, Conn.) earned their first win of the season as pair, 8-4.

In singles action, Albertus Magnus won all six matches. Wildman started off singles play for the Falcons with a 10-0 shutout win at No. 4. Magana extended the visitors lead to 5-0 after posting a 10-2 win at No. 5.

Weaver would secure the win at No. 1 singles by the score of 10-2. Along with Wildman, Sabino posted a shutout victory against the Gryphons No. 3. Coughlin would record the third shutout victory for the Falcons at No. 2, while Rath won at No. 6 by a score of 10-3.
