GNAC TOURNAMENT - FIRST ROUND

TOURNAMENT WEEK
Albertus Magnus finished the year with a 7-7 overall record and qualified for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament as the No. 6 seed thanks to a 1-5 mark in league matches.

Albertus Magnus will face third-seeded Simmons College on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the first round. The Falcons are making their third straight appearance in the postseason event and fourth overall with their first trip coming in 2013.

  • The Falcons' love win came in No. 5 singles when Sophomore Nallely Magana (East Haven, Conn.) swept Kailey Myers, 6-1, 6-4.

Game 14 Highlights:

  • The women's tennis team honored its lone senior Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) for her contribution to the program over the last four seasons.
  • The duo of Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) and Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) put the Falcons up 2-0 after taking No. 2 doubled by a score of 8-0

Simmons leads Albertus Magnus in the all-time series, 23-0.

THIS YEAR VS. SIMMONS
Albertus Magnus is looking to avenge a 9-0 setback to the Sharks back on September 23. The contest was closer than the final score indicated as all three doubles matches were close and one of the six singles tilts were decided in three sets.
