Women’s Tennis Tabbed Sixth in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team was picked sixth in the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.

The Falcons took home 17 points in today's poll, just two shy of catching Eastern Nazarene College in fifth place. AMC's 2021 season was highlighted by a thrilling 5-4 conference win over Lesley University, to go along with an outstanding debut campaign by JuJu Oliver (New Britain, Conn.). Oliver made the All-GNAC First Team at Singles after racking up three conference singles victories and three GNAC doubles wins.

After claiming the 2021 GNAC Championship, Colby-Sawyer College was picked as the top team in the 2022 Preseason Poll with 47 points and six first-place votes. Regis (Mass.) College followed in second place with 42 points and the final first-place vote.

Simmons University and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) slotted in at third and fourth place, respectively, with the Sharks securing 36 points and the Blue Jays capturing 25 points.

The Eastern Nazarene Lions earned 19 points for a fifth-place finish, while Lesley took the final spot in the rankings with 10 points.
