Lady Falcons Drop Trimatch to Lasell and Johnson and Wales

New Haven, CT- The Albertus Magnus College Women's Volleyball team dropped both games of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match against Lasell and Johnson and Wales on Saturday afternoon.  In the opening match, Lasell posted a 3-1 victory over the Falcons (13-25, 25-22, 5-25, 21-25) while Johnson and Wales defeated the Falcons 3-0 (11-25, 23-25, 11-25).

The first match against Lasell featured a hard-fought match with the Lady Falcons tying the match 1-1 with a thrilling 25-22 second game come from behind victory.  Albertus battled the rest of the way but were ultimately defeated 3-1.  Freshman Melissa Manning (Milford, CT/Foran) led the way with seven kills while sophomore Krista LaBissioniere (Meriden, CT/OH Platt) chipped in six kills and a team high 17 digs.

Junior Elizabeth Williams (West Haven, CT/Hyde Leadership) paced the Lady Falcons in the second match with a team high six kills and two blocks.  Junior Tiffany Ortiz (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross) added a team high six digs.

Albertus drops to 0-8, 0-4 GNAC and returns to action on Saturday Oct. 2 in Northfield, VT as they take on GNAC opponents Norwich University and Rivier College.
