Boston, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Volleyball team dropped both games of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match against Simmons College and Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon. In the opening match, Simmons College posted a 3-0 victory over the Falcons (25-14, 25-17, 25-11) while Mount Ida College defeated the Falcons 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-12).
The Falcons struggled to find a rhythm in the opening match but were led by freshman Melissa Manning (Milford, CT/Foran) and her four kills.
The second match featured an exciting second game that saw the Falcons battle to the very end dropping a hardfought 25-20 decision. Junior outside hitter Elizabeth Williams (West Haven, CT/Hyde Leadership) led the way with a team high seven kills while sophomore outside hitter Krista Labissioniere (Meriden, CT/OH Platt) chipped in a team high 11 digs.
Albertus drops to 3-13, 0-8 GNAC travels to Standish, ME on Saturday afternoon for a GNAC tri-match against St. Joseph's College (ME) and Emmanuel College starting at 1:00 pm.
