Late in the first set, Albertus led 23-19 before an AMCATS' timeout sparked a three-point run, which brought Anna Maria back to within one point at 23-22. A ball handling error by Anna Maria's Alicia Bonneau, followed by an attack error by Sandy Acosta secured the set victory for the Falcons.

Albertus dominated the second set, eventually winning 25-9. A kill by Lindsey Raynor (Branford, Conn.) made the score 15-9 in the Falcons' favor before Rosemond served out the game for the Falcons, registering 10 straight points. To end the set, Raynor picked up her third kill as the Falcons went ahead 2 sets to zero.

Albertus carried its enthusiasm into the final set and came from behind to win the match. Anna Maria took a quick 6-3 lead right out of the gate before the Falcons battled back to tie the contest at eight. The Falcons went on a 7-2 run to take a 15-10 lead. The score was tied three times in the final set before the Falcons flew away with the victory as LaBissioniere ended the match with a kill.

Tiffany Ortiz (New Haven, Conn.) added four kills, six digs and two blocks in the Albertus victory.

Anna Maria's Nichole Robbie and Kelly Delany registered 13 and 11 digs, respectively.

Albertus returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 as the Falcons host both Johnson & Wales (R.I.) and Sarah Lawrence. Albertus and JWU will face off at 6:30 p.m. in the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center, while Sarah Lawrence and the Falcons will play following that match.
