Women's Volleyball Battles Saint Joseph in 3-1 Loss

Despite 11 assists and 12 digs from Krista LaBissioniere (Meriden, Conn.) the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team fell to Saint Joseph College (Conn.) 3-1 (25-22, 25-14, 24-26, 25-20) on Tuesday night in West Hartford.

The Falcons (2-18, 1-9 GNAC) fell in the close first set 25-22 before falling in the second set 25-14 led by a 10-kill effort by the Blue Jays. Albertus took the two-point win in the third set led by three kills from Elizabeth Williams (West Haven, Conn.) and Tiffany Ortiz (New Haven, Conn.).

Saint Joseph came back to take the final set 25-20 to earn the Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory. The Blue Jays improve to 7-16 on the year and 2-7 in the GNAC with the win.

Ciara Perez led the Blue Jays with 13 kills in 37 attempts, while Jessica Patrizi dished out 20 assists and recorded 15 digs.

Lindsey Raynor (Branford, Conn.) had eight kills to lead Albertus and Nicole Acerra (East Haven, Conn.) had a team-high 14 digs for the Falcons.

Albertus will travel back up to Boston to compete in a GNAC tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Emerson. The Falcons will face Lasell at noon before taking on host, Emerson in a 2:00 p.m. match-up.
