Women's Volleyball Falls in 3-1 Match vs. Lasell

The Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team battled Lasell in a 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 17-25, 25-9) loss on Saturday afternoon as part of a tri-match at Emerson College in Boston, Mass.

After falling in the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-22, the Falcons took the third set 25-17 to stay in the match. Tiffany Ortiz (New Haven, Conn.) led Albertus in the set as she recorded six of the Falcons' 10 kills in that game. She added two service aces, while Elizabeth Williams (West Haven, Conn.) added nine digs.

Lasell bounced back in the fourth set, taking an early lead and never looked back. The Lasers took the eventual 25-9 win to secure the Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory.

Ortiz finished the match with eight kills, while Nicole Acerra (East Haven, Conn.) added seven. Acerra also contributed with two service aces and nine digs. Krista LaBissioniere (Meriden, Conn.) led the Falcons with 17 digs, while Williams finished the match with 16.

Leanna Velez dished out 17 assists for the Falcons in the loss.
