The Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team earned its 10th victory of the season as the Falcons defeated Castleton 3-1 in non-conference action on Thursday evening. With their 10th victory of 2012, the Falcons have tied their 1996 tally of 10 victories in a single season, the most for the program since joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 1996.

After dropping the first set 25-15, the Falcons bounced back to take three-straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.

Nicole Acerra (East Haven, Conn.) led the Falcons in the win with a team-high 10 kills and 25 digs as Krista LaBissoniere (Meriden, Conn.) dished out 22 assists and chipped in with 21 digs.

After the Falcons battled back to take a 2-1 lead, Castleton answered the Falcons' rally in the fourth set as it saw 12 tied scores and nine lead changes. Late in the set, the Falcons fell behind 20-18 before Albertus tied the set at 21 apiece. The Falcons finished the match with a four-point run to take a 25-21 victory.

Freshman Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) came up with a key solo block on a hitting attempt by Amanda Chambers before finishing the match with back-to-back kills as fellow teammate Alyssa Puccilli (Wallingford, Conn.) served out the final three points for the Falcons.
