Falcons Dominate in 3-0 win at Pine Manor

Freshman Isebel Lopez (West Haven, Conn.) recorded a team-high seven kills as the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team dominated play in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-16) win at Pine Manor College. The Falcons recorded 24 kills in their 12th victory of the season as they improve to 12-9 on the year.

The Falcons began the night with a dominating 25-9 win and carried the momentum into the second set to take a 25-14 second-set victory over the Gators, who fall to 3-11 on the year with the loss. In the third set, the Falcons ran away with a 25-16 win.

Nine different Falcons recorded at least one kill for Albertus. Maritza Rosemond (New Haven, Conn.), Lily Dy (Torrington, Conn.) and Kelsey Pendagast (Meriden, Conn.) each recorded three kills apiece, while Pendagast tallied five service aces on the night. In the contest, the Falcons finished with a total 14 service aces.

Rosemond added seven digs and two service aces for Albertus as well.

Pine Manor was led by freshman Michelle Cole, who finished the night with a match-high eight kills in the loss.

Albertus will head to Emerson on Sunday, Oct. 21 to compete in a single match against the Lions in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. That match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
