Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) registered 12 kills and 14 digs to lead the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-23) non-conference victory over Mitchell College on Tuesday.
Albertus improves to 3-4 on the year with the win, while Mitchell falls to 0-3 overall.
Lily Dy (Torrington, Conn.) dished out 19 assists for the Falcons. She added five digs, while Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) added six kills, five digs and three service aces.
The Falcons tallied 24 kills on the night in 91 tries, while Mitchell recorded 26. Gloria Charles also recorded 12 kills with seven digs to lead Mitchell.
Sophomore Alyssa Puccilli (Milford, Conn.) led all players with 18 digs in the contest.
Albertus dominated play in the first set by winning 25-11 with help from the Mariners that tallied just two kills in 30 tries.
The second set was close as Mitchell held an 18-14 advantage late in the set. Albertus battled back to tie the game then took the eventual 26-24 victory.
In the final set, Albertus went up 12-5 before winning 25-23.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday when they head to the College of New Rochelle for a tri-match which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
