The Johnson & Wales women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus on Thursday night in New Haven.

The Falcons lost the sets 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 to conclude their home contests during the 2013 regular season. The Falcons also honored their two seniors tonight before the match as Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) and Lily Dy (Torrington, Conn.) are the two seniors on the squad.

Manning and sophomore Amber Cohens (Hamden, Conn.) led the Falcons with five kills each, while Lily Dy dished out 13 assists.  Alyssa Puccilli (Milford, Conn.) led the Falcons with nine digs and she also had two assists.

Freshman Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) tallied one kill, one assist and five digs for the Falcons, while Dy and Cohens added five and two digs, respectively. Manning added six digs.

Johnson & Wales controlled play throughout the night, despite the Falcons taking an early lead in the second set.  The Wildcats were led by Giselle Cram with 14 digs, while both Alyssa Drapeau and Marissa Bunnewith tallied five kills apiece.  JWU spread out its offense as 10 different players had at least six or more hitting attempts.

The Wildcats hit .354 on the night with 10 or more kills in each set, while the Falcons were held to just a set-high nine kills in set number two.  With 18 kills and 18 attack errors in 80 tries, the Falcons were held to a zero hitting percentage on the night.

Despite the loss, the Falcons will look to bounce back this weekend when they travel to Boston to take on both Suffolk and Norwich.  Suffolk is 13-13 on the year and 3-6 in GNAC play, while Norwich is 4-18 overall and 2-6 in league action.
