Prete Named to GNAC Sportsmanship Team for Volleyball

Albertus Magnus freshman standout Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) has been named to the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship Team for women's volleyball.

Prete helped the Falcons to a 9-14 overall record on the season, which included a seven-match win streak from Sept. 7th to Sept. 22nd. The Falcons also posted an over .500 record at home winning three of their five matches.

Prete led the women's volleyball team from the outside hitting position as she played in all 23 matches as well as all 81 sets for the Falcons.

The freshman averaged 1.60 kills and 2.81 digs per set.  She registered a career-high 18 digs at Mitchell College in the Falcons' 3-1 win on Sept. 17.  She posted double-digit digs in 13 matches and four matches with 10 or more kills.

On Sept. 14 and Sept. 22 she tallied a career-high 11 kills in two victories for the Falcons.

Prete was just one of two freshmen in the entire GNAC to earn a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team for women's volleyball.
