The Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team downed York 3-1 on Saturday, Oct. 11 in a non-conference match-up in New Haven. The Falcons won the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-20 before falling in the third set 25-15. In the fourth and final set, the Falcons edged York 25-22 to earn the match victory.
Sophomore Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) led all Falcons with 13 kills in 45 hitting attempts to go along with two service aces, 10 digs and one block assist. Taylor DePalma (East Haven, Conn.) added seven kills for the Falcons as well as one dig and one block.
Ana Gomez (New Haven, Conn.) added five kills and 12 digs, while Leanna Velez (Waterbury, Conn.) dished out 24 assists in addition to her 10 digs.
York was led by Kiranjeet Kaur with 18 assists and 20 digs in the contest.
