Women's Volleyball Sweeps SUNY Old Westbury in Non-Conference Action

Old Westbury, N.Y. - Senior Nicole Beard (Shelton, Conn.) and freshman Genesis Cora Luquis (Meriden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team recorded a double-double apiece as the Falcons swept SUNY Old Westbury on Friday evening in non-conference action. Following tonight's win, the Falcons extend their winning streak to six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Behind an 11-kill performance, Albertus Magnus secured the early lead, 1-0, heading into set two after defeating the hosts, 25-16.

SUNY Old Westbury threatened the visitors in the second set, but the Falcons maintained their composure and won the set by three, 25-22.

Similar to set one, Albertus Magnus recorded an 11-kill performance that helped secure the road sweep, 25-15.

  • Cora Luquis led the Falcons' attack with a team-high 11 kills, a service ace, 16 digs and two block assists.
  • Beard posted 29 assists, two kills, six service aces and 23 digs.
