Albertus Magnus Athletics & SAAC Sponsoring Thanksgiving Food Drive During St. Albert Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – As part of Saint Albert Week on campus, the Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) have teamed up with the Dominican Mission & Ministry to help collect non-perishable food items for the Centro San Jose Family Center, located in New Haven, Conn.

Albert Week (Nov. 14 – 22) is a time to honor Saint Albert the Great and help promote the four pillars: study, prayer, community, and service.

A donation box will also be set up inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center for faculty, staff, and students starting on Monday, November 14, and will remain through Monday, November 21.

Additionally, we strongly encourage fans who attend the Albertus women's basketball game on Monday, November 21 (7 p.m.) against Coast Guard Academy and the Albertus men's ice hockey game on Sunday, November 20 (3 p.m.) against Hamilton to bring donations with them to the contests. Fans who bring 2 non-perishable food items will not be charged to attend the home game.

The food collection will then be delivered to the Centro San Jose on Tuesday, Nov. 22, in time for the organization's distribution for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Please consider donating any of these items:

  • Stuffing (Box/Bagged)
  • Mashed potato mix (Boxed)
  • Beans/Rice (Box/Bagged)
  • Canned vegetables
  • Corn Bread
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Gravy (Canned or dry mix)
