George Chaffin is in his fifth year as the Communications and Operations Assistant at Albertus Magnus College. Chaffin is primarily responsible for athletics news releases, along with other sports information duties that include game recaps, season previews, statistics, photography, and website maintenance. Chaffin also handles game day operations for the athletics department, including field set-up and breakdown, music efforts, scoreboard operations, and live streaming efforts.

Chaffin completed a summer stint in the advancement office during the summer of 2022, where he was tasked with helping the advancement office and athletics department create a comprehensive fundraising plan for athletics. He assisted the advancement office with the fourth annual Silver Horn Scholarship Golf Outing. He completed various tasks around the advancement office to assist in the procurement of donors and the strengthening of existing relationships with current donors.       

During the summer of 2021, Chaffin worked in the Human Resources Department and helped to revise, update, and modify the Employee Policy Manual, the Faculty Handbook, and the Athletics Handbook.

Before his communications role with athletics, Chaffin interned with the Marketing and Communications Department at Albertus Magnus College, where he was responsible for writing articles for the alumni magazine, From the Hill, in addition to assisting in the preparation of the magazine for publication.

Chaffin's first experience with athletic communications came at his alma mater, York College of Pennsylvania, where he interned with the marketing and communications department. He was responsible for creating the athletics section of their collegiate magazine, which included human interest stories, player and coach profiles, and historical athletics articles.

Chaffin graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Writing and a Minor in Creative Writing in May of 2018. He received his Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership from Albertus Magnus College in May 2022.
