Samantha {Masayda} Carey is in her fifth year as the Sports Information Director at Albertus Magnus College. She began her position on January 14, 2017.

She oversees all internal and external communications efforts for the Albertus Magnus Athletic Department and its 17 varsity sports – men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s basketball, field hockey, men's and women’s swimming, men’s and women's ice hockey, baseball, softball and men’s and women’s lacrosse.

Carey joined Albertus after serving as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University from fall of 2014 to winter of 2016. In her position at SCSU, she served as the primary contact for the women's women's volleyball, women's basketball, men's and women's cross country/track and field, and softball programs.

She also provided communications support for SCSU Athletics, including game coverage, media relations, social media, and web-based communications. Her other responsibilities included designing and editing game programs, overseeing the athletics website, managing all social media accounts, and maintaining historical records and statistics.

Before rejoining the Owls, Carey served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Merrimack College. During that time, she was the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and tennis programs.

Carey earned her bachelor’s degree from SCSU in 2011, where she worked in the athletic communications office throughout her time as an undergraduate. She assisted in all aspects of the daily operations, including press releases, game programs, and management of game day operations.

After completing her bachelor’s degree, Carey moved across town to the University of New Haven, where she graduated with a master’s degree in management of sports industries in 2013. She also served as a graduate assistant in the athletic communications office at UNH and was the primary contact for the softball and women’s tennis programs.
