Based in Wolcott, Connecticut, Matthew Warren shares how much Albertus Magnus College has made a positive impact in his college experience and future career.

As a Criminal Justice Major, he stated that his favorite professor is Professor Lawrie and his most memorable class is “Criminal Law and Procedure”. In relations to his major he also completed an internship in his hometown at Wolcott Police Academy.

“College is important to me because it expanded my education and life skills. Not only does it teach you how to live without your family, but it teaches you time management.”

Matthew said that he chose Albertus because it is a tight knit community and described it as one big family. “The faculty at Albertus does their all to provide you with the help you need.”

He plays on the Albertus baseball team and volunteers for Unified Sports®, a registered program of the Special Olympics that combines athletes with and without intellectual disability (or other developmental delays) on sports teams for training and competition.

“The faculty at Albertus does their all to provide you with the help you need.”

Over the past four years Matthew has been on the Dean’s list and was honored as a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) “Player of the Week”.

“Albertus left a great legacy on me. First off, I earned a degree and that is always something to be proud of. Then the people I’ve met along my journey in the past four years, those people are like a second family to me! I am so grateful that I chose Albertus.”

Matthews’ best Albertus Memory is when he traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina every year with his friends on the Albertus baseball team.

Matthew Warren is set to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in Spring 2020.
