KEY HIGHLIGHT: Mount Ida threatened the Falcons' lead and brought the score to within three, 78-75, but the visitors kept their composure and secured the 86-80 road win.

WALTERS CLOSING IN ON MILESTONE
Junior Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) is just 27 points away from recording his 1,000th career-point as a Falcon.

SENIOR DAY
Head coach Mitch Oliver and the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team will be honoring its three-member senior class - Grant Ellis, Shaquille Mitchell and Devin Coleman - prior to the start of Saturday's game against Mount Ida.

NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR GAME
The Albertus Magnus college men's and women's basketball teams and the United Way of Greater New Haven are partnering together for the first time to promote the Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) campaign. Albertus Magnus will host a Neighbor to Neighbor Game on Saturday, February 18th when the Falcons host a double-header against Mount Ida. 

Upon entering the game, fans will be receiving a ticket, along with their program, on how to make a donation to the N2N campaign as well as have the opportunity to win a dinner for two at a local New Haven restaurant.

LAST WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Albertus finished out the week shooting an impressive 50.4 percent from the field while its opponents were held to only 36.2 percent.
  • Four different players averaged in double-figures for the Falcons, including Jaqhawn Walters who led the team with 25.0 points, 18.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
  • The Falcons dominated on defense collecting 12 blocks.
  • Both Albertus and its opponents finished the week with 14 steals a piece.

WALTERS NAMED GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK
Junior Jaqhawn Walters was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, as announced by the league office. Walters helped Albertus to a 2-0 week as the junior registered two double-doubles, averaging 25.0 points, 18.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 67.6% (23-34 FG) overall. The forward opened the week with 25 points, a season-high 23 rebounds and three blocks at Mount Ida before tallying 25 points, 14 boards, four assists and three steals against Anna Maria to capture his fifth GNAC Player of the Week honor (and third in four weeks)
