WINTHROP, Mass. – For the first time in his career, Albertus Magnus College men's basketball senior guard Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Green-Younger guided the Falcons to a pair of impressive wins this past week, as he paced the team with 23.5 points per game to go along with 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds. The senior maintained a 54.8 field-goal percentage (17-31 FG, 7-15 3PT) and committed just two turnovers in 33.5 minutes per game.
In the first contest of the week, Green-Younger broke an 81-81 tie against Keene State with a game-winning layup with one second left on the clock to lead Albertus to an 83-81 road victory. Against the Owls, the senior poured in a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor. Then on Sunday, Green-Younger again paced all scorers with 22 points, in addition to recording five assists and three rebounds in a 76-63 Falcons' win over Williams College at home.
Albertus will look to extend its current five-game win streak on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when it heads to Mitchell College for a road 6 p.m. showdown.
