New Haven, Conn. – For the first time this season, the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team has been ranked in the D3Hoops.com Top-25 Poll as announced Monday evening. The Falcons break into the Top-25 in the 20th spot after receiving votes in the previous two weekly polls.

This is the first time since the 2014-15 season that Albertus has been ranked in the Top 25 poll. The highest ranking achieved by the team was sixth back on February 6, 2015. The Falcons also received votes for #1 in the nation that same year.

Albertus is currently on an 11-game win streak as the Falcons stand at 11-1 on the year. The Falcons are coming off a big 2-0 weekend after defeating York (Pa.) College, 76-73, and Coast Guard Academy, 103-95, at the York College Spartan Classic.

To date, the Falcons rank in the Top 10 in Division III in six different statistical categories – offensive rebounds per game (3rd - 16.75), total steals (5th - 151), steals per game (5th - 12.6), scoring offense (7th - 92.5 points per game), forced turnovers (7th - 21.42), and free throw attempts (9th - 311).

The Falcons have been ranked or received votes in the Top-25 multiple times since 2010. Other rankings include #16 in 2012 and #12 in 2014. The Falcons additionally received Top-25 recognition in each of the seasons in 2010, 2013 2016, and 2017. Albertus was also ranked #5 in the Nation by Sporting News Magazine in 2014.

The Falcons have won seven Great Northeast Athletics Conference (GNAC) Championships and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the last 10 years. Albertus has won five NCAA tournament games and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2014.

Adding to the week's excitement, senior guard Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.) is only 98 points away from scoring his 1,000th career point and becoming the 15th player in program history to join the 1,000 career point club.

The men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Tuesday, January 14 with a road showdown against #3 Middlebury College. Tip-off is set for 5PM.

The D3hoops.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.
