Albertus Magnus to Offer Men’s & Women’s Golf

Albertus Magnus College Director of Athletics Jim Abromaitis has announced the addition of men's and women's golf as the programs will begin as club sports during the 2014-15 academic year.

The Falcons are currently recruiting student-athletes with an interest in playing golf at the Division III collegiate level.

The programs will begin at the club level and will eventually become the college's 13th and 14th athletic programs, respectively.

Albertus is working with Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Professional Larry Thornhill, who is the Director of Golf at the Alling Golf Club in New Haven, to begin the process of starting the two new programs.

Albertus Magnus College is a small, private liberal arts college located in New Haven, Connecticut. Currently, the student enrollment consists of approximately 550 full-time undergraduates and nearly 1,700 continuing education and graduate students from eight U.S. states and two international countries.

Albertus Magnus College is a member of the NCAA Division III and competes in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as well as the ECAC.
