NEW HAVEN, Conn. - With the start of the 2022 season right around the corner, Albertus Magnus College Head Men's Golf Coach J.R. Fredette announced the team's schedule for the upcoming campaign.
The Falcons are slated to begin the season on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Mitchell Invite I, hosted at the Shennecossett Golf Club in Groton, Conn. AMC returns to action the following Wednesday to participate in Emmanuel (Mass.) College's Saints Invitational at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham, Mass.
Albertus continues September with dates at the Brett Williamson Invitational, hosted by Westfield State, and the Rose City Classic, hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University. The Brett Williamson Invite is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22, while the Rose City Classic will span Sunday and Monday, Sept. 25-26.
The Falcons will then take a break from tournament play to host a pair of matches at the New Haven Country Club. Albertus' first home match is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 28, and its second will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The opponents and start times for both home contests will be determined at a later date.
AMC returns to tournament action on Thursday, Oct. 6, to conclude the 2022 regular season. The Falcons will go back to the Shennecossett GC for a second time this year to take part in the Mitchell Invite III.
These events will prepare Albertus for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on Monday and Tuesday, October 10-11. The GNAC Championship will be hosted by the Saint Joseph's College of Maine at the Biddeford-Saco Country Club in Saco, Maine.
The Falcons' roster returns three members of the 2021 Spring GNAC Championship team in David Aquavia (Oakville, Conn.), Robert Eichelberger (Odessa, Fla.), and Devin Hines (West Haven, Conn.). In addition to bringing back a veteran core, sophomore Charles Kristofak (West Hartford, Conn.) returns after a stellar rookie debut to go along with the introduction of exciting freshmen Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) and Shamar Wilson (Montego Bay, Jamaica).
