WINTHROP, Mass. - For the second straight week in a row, Albertus Magnus College men's golf freshman Shamar Wilson (Montego Bay, Jamaica) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Golf Rookie of the Week.

Wilson was outstanding in a busy week for the Falcons, placing tied for 11th at the Brett Williamson Invitational on Wednesday before finishing third at AMC's home match on Thursday. The rookie sensation first carded a one-day 78 (+7) to pace AMC and finish T-11 at the Brett Williamson Invite, helping guide Albertus to a fourth-place finish as a team. He then tallied a 75 (+5) at his home course, the New Haven Country Club, to finish third. Wilson and the rest of the Falcons tallied a program-low team score of 303 to top Eastern Naz and Mitchell. 

The Falcons have their next home match on Wednesday, Oct. 5, as they welcome the Bulldogs of Dean College for a dual match at the New Haven Country Club.
