WINTHROP, Mass. – After leading the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team in its win over MCLA on Tuesday evening, the Falcons' Jon Olson (Bellmore, N.Y.) was tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Olson paced Albertus in its convincing 22-8 victory over the Trailblazers with eight points on six goals and two assists. The rookie scored twice in the first, second and third quarters, netting three of the game's first seven goals to help the home team build a commanding lead. In addition to his scoring success, the Bellmore, N.Y. native, also caused a team-leading five turnovers and picked up five ground balls.

The Falcons will hit the turf next on Tuesday, March 10, with their first road game of the season at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, N.Y. The opening faceoff for the road contest is slated for 4:00 p.m.
