HOW IT HAPPENED

Albertus spent the majority of the first half fighting off the Blazers' attack as the visitors held a 7-5 edge in shot attempts.

Over the first 20 minutes of the half, Elms outshot the Falcons, 3-1. The host's lone shot attempt came three minutes in behind a shot attempt from Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.). Following the attempt, the tides slowly began to shift in favor of Albertus as the hosts rallied off three straight shot attempts from Abdoul Aremu (West Haven, Conn.), Declan Ryan (Hamden, Conn.), and Lopez. However, two of the Falcons' three attempts were unable to find the back of the net against the Elms' keeper, Collin Liedke.

With the half winding down, Elms retaliated in short order with a pair of their own shots, but neither were able to slip past Falcons' keeper Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.) and preserved the 0-0 tie heading into the break.

Albertus and Elms opened the second stanza trading shots as both teams' offenses turned up the dial, putting the keepers to work. Anthony Barreira (Trumbull, Conn.) and Aremu were hot targets for the Falcons' offensive unit as the duo combined for three shots over 15 minutes of play.

With 14 minutes remaining in regulation, Albertus was able to find the back of the net and take the one-goal lead after a goal from Bobi. Lopez sent a beautiful ball flying over the defense that found Bobi, who took his time and tossed the ball over the scrambling keeper.

Albertus played keep-away for the final 14 minutes, preventing Elms from scoring and finishing the game with the 1-0 victory.
