Men's Soccer Drops Non-League Game to Ramapo

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team saw an end to its seven-game unbeaten streak this evening with a non-conference setback to Ramapo College, 2-0, on Wednesday night at Celetano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus recorded the game's first chance in the fifth minute when Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, Conn.) wrapped a shot off the crossbar. After that, the Falcons' offense stayed hot, tallying three shots and two corners in the first 10 minutes of play.

The Roadrunners opened the game's scoring in the 24th minute when Mark Buckel lifted the ball from the right side of the field and flew it over Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.) into the corner of the cage.

Ramapo made it a 2-0 game in the 37th minute on a goal from Jonathan Junqueira. Junqueira received a pass at the top of the box before beating two defenders and firing in the goal.

The two defenses defined the second half as the teams combined for zero goals on eight shots. The Falcons tallied two of the eight shots, with Fillipe Mouroa (Milford, Conn.) and Cortez having a crack at goal.
