Falcons Fall to St. Joe’s Brooklyn 8-0 in Six Innings

The Albertus Magnus softball team fell to St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) 8-0 in six innings in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Invitational Championship game on Saturday.

The Falcons, who finish the year with a 16-24 overall record, fell short in their final contest of the season.

St. Joe's Alyson Chiaramonte threw six shutout innings of work and allowed just one hit in her 16th win of the season.

Shequita Baker (New Haven, Conn.) picked up the lone Falcon hit with a pinch-hit single in the third inning.

Danielle Thuerling (Wallingford, Conn.) took the loss to finish the year with a 12-18 overall record from the hill. Thuerling allowed seven earned runs and nine hits in six innings, while she struck out four and walked two.

The Lady Bears were led by four home runs, including a two-run home run by Danielle Marino in the sixth inning to secure the victory. Marino led St. Joe's with a 2-for-4 performance along with two RBI and two runs scored.
