HOW IT HAPPENED

Jill Pulek put Suffolk on the board in the first frame as the designated hitter smashed a two-run homer to give the Rams an early 2-0 edge.

The Falcons trimmed the margin to one in the home half of the inning thanks to Gillian Fortier (Naugatuck, Conn.) solo shot down the left field line.

Albertus Magnus tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, 2-2. Freshman Aliza Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) reached first with a single up the middle then Megan Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) ripped a two-out triple to right field that plated Esposito.

After neither team could break through for the winning run in regulation, the Rams exploded for seven runs on eight hits and two errors in the eighth. Suffolk got RBI singles from Delaney Sylvester, Devlin Frost and McKenzie McGrath to start the scoring.
