  • 2020-21 GNAC Academic All-Conference Honorees Announced

    WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 school year. This year, 82 student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 1,260+ honorees named to the Academic Team.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Throughout the year, the individual teams of the Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department have participated in various community service projects, designed to broaden the student-athletes’ perspectives and give back to the community to which they belong. This year, the women’s basketball team followed tradition and gave back to their community by volunteering their time with the Strafford Police Activities League (PAL).
  • Albertus Magnus College Welcomes Centennial Class at Accepted Student Day

    New Haven, Conn., April 5, 2021 – A special welcome to the Centennial Class at Albertus Magnus College! First-year students this fall will graduate in 2025, the year of Albertus’ 100th Anniversary. So, Accepted Student Day 2021 will be just as unique. First, it will be held twice: Saturday, April 10, and Saturday, April 24 starting at 10 am. Reservations are required. Second, it will be experienced in-person, but in a drive-through fashion complete with QR codes and culminating in an exciting outdoor gathering - all while maintaining proper physical distancing. (see attached map). Last year’s Accepted Student Day was done virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College will celebrate NCAA Division III Week, which begins Monday, April 5th and continues until Sunday, April 11th. This week is an opportunity for the 450 member schools of NCAA DIII to recognize and promote the achievements of student-athletes on and off the field. Albertus Magnus is joining in the nation-wide celebration by highlighting the academic, athletic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular achievements of our own student-athletes.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team closed out its shortened 2020-21 season with a heartbreaking home loss to the Mariners of Mitchell College, 60-57. Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) led the Falcons on offense, scoring 20 points with five rebounds and two assists.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team hosts the University of Saint Joseph (CT) on Thursday, March 18, at "The Nest" in the penultimate game of the shortened 2020-21 season at 7 p.m. Thursday's bout will serve as Senior Day for the Falcons, as the team will honor Cassie Couture (Waterbury, Conn.) for her play over the last four seasons.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team kept their winning streak alive Thursday night, winning their third straight contest with a 70-63 triumph over the Blue Jays of Saint Joseph's (CT). Before the start of tonight's home showdown, the Albertus Magnus Athletic Department and women's basketball team honored its lone senior - Cassie Couture (Waterbury, Conn.) - for her hard work and dedication to the program over the past four seasons.

    New Haven, Conn., March 16, 2021 – Albertus Magnus College President Dr. Marc M. Camille will confer undergraduate and graduate degrees in a joint Commencement ceremony to the Classes of 2020 and 2021 during the College’s historic 95th Anniversary Year.  The celebration will take place in front of the iconic Rosary Hall on Sunday, May 16, 2021, and will include several of the annual traditions that date back nearly a century to the College’s first graduations.

Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) led the Falcons with her second straight double-double (18 pts, 12 rbs), while Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) chipped in with her third consecutive double-digit scoring effort, netting 16 to go along with six rebounds.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus women's basketball team picked up its first win of the season Monday night by defeating the Falcons of Fisher College by a score of 68-52 at "The Nest" inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center. Kyah Nowlin (Stamford, Conn.) paced all players with 20 points, while Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) recorded the first double-double of her career with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore Kyah Nowlin (Stamford, Conn.) led the Falcons’ offensive unit with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Emma Pierson (Branford, Conn.) and Alexis Pendziwater (East Haven, Conn.) scored nine points each.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Albertus Athletic Department postponed the Class of 2020 Induction Ceremony, which was scheduled for the fall of 2020, to the fall of 2021.

The winter sports affected include men’s and women’s basketball, women’s swimming & diving and men’s ice hockey.
