Murray-Leach found the net a minute later with a lay-up, giving the Falcons the early 4-2 advantage with 6:31 remaining in the first quarter.

Over the next five minutes, the Blazers put together a 4-0 run to take the 6-4 lead, but a Murray-Leach lay-up at the 1:35 mark tied the game at 6-all. Over the final minute, the Falcons put together a 5-2 run, capped by a long three-pointer from Murray-Leach in the final seconds, to take an 11-8 lead into the second quarter.

Murray-Leach struck again in the opening seconds of the second stanza, swooshing a jumper to expand the Falcon's advantage to five, 13-8. The teams traded baskets for the next few minutes, with a Raposo lay-up expanding the visitor's lead to seven, 19-12. The Blazers put together a 9-6 run to finish off the second quarter, with Carsyn Langhorn (Norwalk, Conn.) netting a lay-up and both Raposo and White sinking a pair of free throws to send the teams into the halftime break with the Falcons holding the 27-22 lead.

Elms started the second half with the hot hand as the hosts managed to cut the lead to within one, 27-26, just three minutes in. Shortly after, Murray-Leach and Scott got the Falcons rolling with a pair of lay-ups, but the Blazers answered with a 4-0 run to make it a one-point game once again, 31-30. A pair of made Murray-Leach free throws were quickly countered by an Elms lay-up, keeping it a one-point game, 33-32, with four minutes left on the clock.

The teams traded lay-ups before Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) found the net from well behind the arc, advancing the Falcon advantage to four, 38-34, and sparking a 9-0 Falcons' run that saw the visitors pull ahead, 43-34, with just over two minutes left in the frame. The Blazers closed out the third with a 7-1 run sending the teams into the final stanza, with the Falcons holding the narrow 44-41 advantage.

Scott got the Falcons moving early in the final quarter, putting in a lay-up to extend the Falcons' lead to five, 46-41.
