Women's Basketball Sees 13-Game Win Streak Snapped in GNAC Semifinals vs. Saint Joseph’s (Me.)

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 2-seeded Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team saw its 13-game win streak come to a close on Saturday afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinals, as the 3-seeded Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine secured a 78-62 win at "The Nest".

Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.), Diamond White (Hamden, Conn.), and Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) led the Falcons attack, with 20 points, 13 points, and 12 points, respectively. Scott also tallied five rebounds, five assists, and two steals for the Falcons.

  • The Monks opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run to take the 64-49 advantage with 7:46 left to play in the contest.
  • The teams traded free throws for a few minutes in the fourth before the Monks gradually pulled away again in the final few minutes to secure a 78-62 victory.
