Women's Lacrosse Falls to Emmanuel 17-1

The Albertus Magnus women's lacrosse team fell to Emmanuel College 17-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon in Boston.

Emmanuel (5-2, 5-0 GNAC) tallied 13 unanswered goals, including 10 in the first half, before Halle Altieri (Guilford, Conn.) scored her team-leading third goal of the season.

Emmanuel scored just nine seconds into the contest and took a 5-0 lead 10 minutes into the contest. The Saints led 10-0 after 30 minutes of play and outshot the Falcons 23-2 in the first frame.

Emmanuel outscored the Falcons' 7-1 in the second half led by two goals from Monica Burdick.  The Saints also outshot the Falcons 19-3 in the half.

Altieri's goal came when she took a successful clear the length of the entire field to make the score 13-1.  Senior Kelsey Proctor (Guilford, Conn.) finished the contest with a game-high four groundballs to pace the Falcons.

Senior Erika Blechert (Durham, Conn.) made 16 saves in the loss, while Emmanuel's Lauren White made one stop in the victory.

The Falcons will host Johnson & Wales (R.I.) on Tuesday, April 1 in a 4:00 p.m. GNAC match-up.
