Halle Altieri (Guilford, Conn). scored two goals against Mount Ida in a 20-2 loss against Mount Ida College Tuesday afternoon at Celentano Field in New Haven, Conn. The Falcons fall to 0-8 on the season and 0-8 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) while the Mustangs improve to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the GNAC.

With these two goals, Altieri leads the team in scoring with six goals on the season. The second goal for the Falcons came from a beautiful pass from Miranda Jassil (North Branford, Conn.) as she found a cutting Altieri with 23:36 left to go in the first half. The Falcons cut the score to 5-2 and the two goals were just 1:11 apart from eachother.

The Mustangs proved to be too much for the Falcons however as they were powered by their sophomore attack Molly Sheppard. Sheppard had a tremendous game, winning draw controls, picking up ground balls, finding teammates for assists, and scoring goals. Sheppard ended the game with five goals and one assist.

Amanda Bowen also had a great game for the Mustangs as she scored four goals and assisted four times for a total of eight points for the match.

Despite the 20 goals for the Mustangs, Erika Blechert (Durham, Conn.) played stellar in the cage. Blechert had fifteen saves for the Falcons to add to her season total of 109.

The Falcons take on Becker College Thursday afternoon in a GNAC matchup at Becker College.
