Women's Lacrosse Falls to Emmanuel in GNAC Opener

Boston, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost on the road to Emmanuel, 19-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday night at Clemente Field. With the setback, the Falcons move to 0-4 on the year and 0-1 in conference play, while the Saints improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in league tilts.

Offensively, Albertus Magnus senior midfielder Miranda Jassil (North Branford, Conn.) had a team-high three shots to go along with two caused turnovers and three ground balls. Falcon freshman goalkeeper Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) had a game-high nine ground balls. Defensively, freshman Taylor Bisaillon (Columbia, Conn.) and sophomore Alex Chan (Monroe, N.Y.) each had two caused turnovers, while both also added two ground balls and one draw control apiece.

Sarah Higgins led the charge for the hosts with four goals, four assists, three ground balls and a game-high nine draw controls. Kristen Tuleja and Emily Baker had solid games for Emmanuel as well, netting three markers to go along with two assists apiece.

In net, Fenn turned aside eight shots in a losing effort for the Falcons. On the opposite end, Lauren White made four saves to earn her third triumph of the spring.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Saturday, April 2, with a home conference clash against Saint Joseph's (Maine) that gets underway at noon.
