Late Goal Lifts Lasell Over Falcons 2-1

With the score tied at one late in the contest, a goal in the 83rd minute by Molly Masiero gave Lasell College a 2-1 victory over the Falcons in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer action.

Today's loss moves the Falcons to 10-3-2 on the year, as they fall to 6-2-2 in GNAC play. Lasell improves to 8-1 in league play and 10-2 overall with the victory. Today's loss also marks the first for the Falcons in their last five contests.

Kyla Lynch scored the first goal of the day in the seventh minute as she finished on a through ball from sister Bridget Lynch. Lasell outshot the Falcons 6-1 in the first half and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Shannon Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) tied the contest at one as she scored on an unassisted goal in the 67th minute. For Skidmore, it was her sixth goal of the season and the eighth of her career. The junior's goal also marked her 20th career point at Albertus.

Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) allowed two goals and made three saves in 90 minutes of work. Ashley Parelli earned her 10th win of the season as she only faced one shot on goal.

The Lasers finished the afternoon outshooting the Falcons 13-3 and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Albertus returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 as the Falcons travel to Mount Ida to take on the Mustangs in a 7:00 p.m. GNAC battle. The Mustangs are 4-9-1 on the year and 1-8-1 in the GNAC standings.
