Women's Swimming & Diving Concludes Season at the NEISDA Championships

Kingston, R.I. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team wrapped up the season at the four-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (NEISDA) Championship at the University of Rhode Island Tootell Aquatic Center. The. The Falcons finished with a team score of 173 to finish 18th out of 21.

Following the meet, Coach Lauren Pallone took the time to comment on how proud she is of the team. 

C.S. Lewis said, "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." 

"Where our inaugural season began and ended is simply incredible. We are blessed to have worked with such an amazing and dedicated group of young women. They have set the standards for future falcons and we look forward to what the future has in store for this swimming and diving program."

PRELIMINARY RESULTS
100 Yard Freestyle  

400 Yard Freestyle Relay 

  • The relay consisting of Gomez, Sherry, Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.), and Crisbeth Castañeda (Guatemala City, Guatemala) earned themselves a spot swimming in the "B" final.

FINAL RESULTS
100 Yard Freestyle  

  • Gomez (pictured below) set a new school record, having a podium third place finish behind a time of 54.46 seconds and earned 27 points for your Falcons.

  • Sherry finished 14th picking up 13 points behind a season-best time of 56.90 seconds. 

400 Yard Freestyle Relay 

  • Gomez, Sherry, Anderson, and Castañeda finished the event in 15th, earning 24 points behind a new school record of 3:59.94.
