Women's Tennis Falls on the Road to Saint Joseph's (Conn.)

West Hartford, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team fell on the road to in-state rival Saint Joseph's (Conn.), 7-2, on Tuesday evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash at the USJ Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In doubles action, the hosts won two of three matches to take an early 2-1 edge entering singles play. At No. 2 doubles, the Falcon duo of Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) and Nallely Magana (East Haven, Conn.) earned the win by a score of 9-7. The win was the first win for the duo this fall. The Albertus Magnus duo of Izzy Sabino (Cheshire, Conn.) and Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) dropped a hard-fought match, 8-2, at No. 1

The Blue Jays pulled away in singles play, winning five of the six matches to secure the conference win. Junior Izzy Sabino (Cheshire, Conn.) was stellar for the Falcons, winning her match in straight sets at No. 2, 6-3, 6-2.
