Williams Named to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team

Winthrop, Mass. – Sophomore Paige Williams (Orange County, Va.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship Team as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Albertus Magnus ended the season with a loss to Simmons College in the opening round of the GNAC Tournament. The Falcons closed out the fall with a 7-8 overall record and qualified as the sixth-seed thanks to a 1-5 mark in conference play.

Williams appeared in all 14 matches for the Falcons this fall, including playing time at No. 5 and No.6 singles. She finished fifth on the team with five singles victories, including straight-set wins against players from Lehman and Mount Ida.

In doubles play, she saw action at No. 3 with two different partners, Nallely Magana (East Haven, Conn.) and Lakhena Rath (Danbury, Conn.). Williams finished the year second on the team in wins with seven and recorded back-to-back wins against Sarah Lawrence and Mount Ida with Magana.
