NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second consecutive season, the Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team posted a 4-9 overall record, winnings its last two matches to bring an end to the 2019 campaign.

Just six days later, the Falcons added their second win of the year with a hard-fought 6-3 triumph over St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) on the road. Junior Jessica Coughlin (Putnam, Conn.) set the tone for Albertus, as she won at first singles, 10-1, and at first doubles, 8-1, pairing with freshman Mariah Mandulak (Shelton, Conn.), who was also victorious at second singles.

The Falcons hit a rough patch when they resumed GNAC play, as the team went 0-4 to close out its league slate. Albertus ended the year with a 0-7 record in conference.

Albertus first steamrolled Vaughn College, 9-0, at the USTA National Tennis Center on October 13. The Falcons swept all three doubles matches without dropping a game. Freshman Jah-Naisha Lee (Bridgeport, Conn.) picked up her first win of the year at sixth singles, 10-5.

Albertus capped the season with a 7-2 triumph over York College (N.Y.) at home at the Celentano Courts as part of the college's Homecoming Weekend. The Falcons went a perfect 3-0 in doubles action before dropping just two singles matches, one because of an injury. Albertus improved to a perfect 3-0 all-time against the Cardinals.
